After hearing about what an Inversion table can do, I bought one for myself. In a mission for finding the best inversion table I browsed a lot of reviews, asked my friends, consulted by physical instructor and what not. I did everything to find a best inversion table that my money can buy. At last I found one.
Later as usual I used it for inversions. But I had no idea whatsoever about the other exercises that I can possibly do on the inversion table. I kept doing the same thing for months. Well results were good but I was not using the inversion table to the fullest. There came the need for knowing more exercises. After lot of research and consultations now am aware of a set of inversion table exercises which I perform on a daily basis. I would like to share them through this review.
This exercise is performed at 90 degrees on the inversion table. Reach down stretching your hands and grab the base of the table. Try to stretch as much as possible downwards. The exercise helps in elongation of the spine and relaxing the tension in the spine. In addition, you can twist sideward in this position. This is very relaxing and while doing this you would be swaying like a pendulum.
Lower back stretching
Grab the backrest of the inversion table and project your lower back outward in an arch shape. Keep this position for few seconds and then rest back normal. I prefer repeating this for 10 times. This is a great warm up and stretching exercise for the crunches and sit ups.
Crunches can be performed at any inclination. But larger the inclination greater is the challenge for doing the crunches. To perform the exercise, raise the shoulders towards your feet and bend down. This will increase the abdominal strength which in turn supports the back muscles.
It would be better to do this after exercising on crunches. Reaching your arms towards the toes will make a full sit-up. This is a great workout for the abdomen. While doing this in the beginning, be gentle on your muscles. Performing the exercises on the inversion table is much harder than the regular workout. After all we are working against the gravity.
Stretch your heels towards the ceiling and prolong your hamstrings and calves. At start when the muscles are weak you may lose the balance in alignment. But overtime this goes off as your hip muscles get stronger. The exercise provides you protection against postural complications leading to back pain.
All the exercises must be started slowly at a lower inclination. Later challenge yourself by increasing the inclination in 10 to 20 degrees. There are many other inversion table exercises that you can perform. Simply research the internet for videos demonstrating these exercises. There are tons of sources which will provide you awesome set exercises to bring a significant change in your body fitness.
The inversion table exercises I mentioned here can be performed within 20 minutes of time. These relieve muscle tension, neck, back and join pains. Your body will have an enhanced blood circulation, better posture and clear lymphatic system. Also if there is any sort of swelling it will be relived.
Now we can go into using inversion table to fix back spasms
Using an Inversion Table for Back Spasms Treatment
I have dealt with back spasms for a lot of my adult life, and I will be the first to tell you that it can really be debilitating. I have tried just about every back spasms treatment option on the market, and to no avail. Then, I tried something different. After trying muscle relaxers, pain relievers, exercises, and other techniques, and even considering surgical procedures- I decided to give inversion therapy a try. It has been one of the best things that I could have ever done for my back.
Strengthening your back muscles
If you have a lot of back problems, including back spasms, the best thing that you can do it strengthen and stretch the muscles in your back. When you do this, it can really help to counteract a lot of the issues that you may be having with your back. People that sit at work for a long period of time may find that their back muscles are just not as strong as they could be. They don’t stretch enough, or they don’t get enough movement during the day.
How the inversion table works
Now, we will take a closer look at how inversion therapy actually helps. Your inversion table will actually work to strengthen your back because it helps to reduce the effects that gravity has on your body. It allows your body to get into positions that it would otherwise not be able to do- because of gravity. Gravity actually has a negative impact on our back form time to time, and can lead to back stiffness, compression, and back spasms. The good news is that hanging upside down on an inversion table can help to alleviate this.
Who can benefit from inversion back spasms treatment?
The truth is, many people can actually benefit from using inversion treatment for their back, but that doesn’t mean that it is for everyone. If you have serious problems with your back, then it is a good idea for you to talk to your doctor about it before you proceed with the treatment. You don’t want to make the matters worse, especially if it is something that may require surgery. With that being said, people with cardiac problems or high blood pressure may also not be able to use this treatment. Other people that don’t fit into these categories may find it highly effective, just as I did.
As you can see, inversion table therapy can actually be one of the best back spasms treatment options out there. It is low impact, and will generally not cause you anymore harm if you use it as it is directed. You may still want to start by doing it at your physical therapy office, or possibly even at your chiropractic clinic. This will ensure that you know the basics of how to use the table before you buy one for home use. You want to make sure that you are using it effectively if you want to get amazing results like me.
